Filmmakers Mai Masri and Maryanne Zéhil have presented parts of their latest films in a special screening at Cannes Film Market.

The Marché du Film (Cannes Film Market), in partnership with the Dubai Film Market (DFM), has organised an exclusive screening of five Arab films in post-production amongst the works-in-progress line-up at this year’s Cannes Film Festival.

The five films, that were a part of the “Dubai Film Market Goes to Cannes”, were screened to sales agents, distributors, and festival programmers. Lebanese producer and founder of Orjouane Productions Sabine Sidawi was there with Mai Masri’s “3000 Nights”. Lebanese filmmaker Maryanne Zéhil also presented her film, “The Otherside of November”.

Both films in the market were also granted funding by Enjaaz, a program in the Dubai Film Festival that provides post-production and production assistance to regional filmmakers. Since its inception, Enjaaz has backed many of the region’s filmmakers, among which three Lebanese projects include: Jihane Chouaib’s “Breathe,” ” Mai Masri’s “3000 Nights,” and Maryanne Zéhil’s “The Other Side of November”.
